Why we buy Sítio Bela Vista
The darkest thing we make: 211 °C, two minutes and twenty seconds after first crack and not a second more. We stop well short of second crack on purpose — the oils that come out there go stale in a fortnight.
What you get is sweet and heavy, with hazelnut and dark chocolate and none of the bitterness people expect from a dark roast.
This is the coffee for a cafetière, a moka pot, or anyone who drinks their coffee with milk and wants it to taste of coffee.
“Came for the café, left with a kilo of Bela Vista. Now it arrives every month and I never run out.”
